The materials accepted, as detailed below, are provided for guidance only*. In general, a recyclable material is made out of paper, cardboard, glass, plastic or metal.

Food scrapings
- Cereal, grains, bread, pasta, flour, sugar, etc
- Raw or cooked fruits and vegetables, eggshells
- Cakes, sweets, milk products, nuts, husks
- Meat, fish, seafood, shells and bones
- Fibres and coffee or tea residuals
- Animal food
- Liquids in small quantity that can be absorbed by the other residuals in the bin
Green residuals (gardening residuals)
- Dead leaves, grass, weeds and residuals from flowerbeds
- Small branches measuring less than 4 cm in diameter and 30 cm in length (logs and stumps are not accepted)
Other organic materials
- Flowers, house plants and potting residuals, including sand ans earth (in small quantities and free of rocs)
- Sticks or wooden toothpicks, hair, fur, feathers
- Napkins, paper towels, tissue
- Paper and food-soiled cardboard: paper plates, pizza boxes, paper bags and other paper containers without metal broaches, plastic and non-waxed
- Paper bags, with or without compostable cellulosic film on the inside
- Ashes that have been left to cool for 4 weeks
- Litter for small animals such as hamsters or rabbits
- Litter clumps from a cat’s litter box
